RTV Viewer Collaboration Features
To support team-based workflows and review processes, the MARS RTV Advanced Viewer integrates features enabling multiple users to interact with documents concurrently and exchange feedback effectively within the viewing environment.
Key Collaboration Capabilities:
- Live Collaboration Sessions: This feature allows authorized users to join a shared, real-time viewing session focused on a specific document. Actions performed by one participant, such as navigating between pages, zooming in on details, or potentially adding annotations, can be synchronized and reflected in the view for all other participants. This facilitates guided reviews, remote presentations, or joint problem-solving centered around the document content.
- Shared Annotations & Markup: Annotations (text comments, graphical highlights, stamps, etc.) created by one user during a collaborative session can typically be configured to be visible to other participants in real-time or near real-time. This promotes immediate feedback, discussion, and collective markup directly on the document, streamlining review cycles compared to offline methods. Permissions often control who can view, create, or modify annotations within a shared session.
- Annotation Persistence & Visibility: Annotations added during collaborative reviews are generally saved and associated with the document (often as a separate layer). This allows team members who couldn't attend a live session to review the comments and markups later. Visibility might be controlled based on user roles or group memberships.
- Integration with Version Control: While the viewer primarily focuses on display and interaction, it typically integrates with the version management capabilities of the underlying Enterprise Content Management (ECM) or repository system. This allows collaborators to easily access and potentially compare different versions of a document during review, using features like side-by-side comparison if available.
By centralizing interaction and feedback around the document itself, these features aim to enhance the efficiency and clarity of collaborative document review, analysis, and approval processes.
