Feature: Automated Detection/Configuration (RTV Viewers AI)

The MARS Real-Time Viewer (RTV) incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities designed to streamline the process of displaying various document and data types, particularly those originating from legacy or mainframe systems which may lack standard modern formatting.

A primary function of this AI is the automated detection of critical file characteristics. When encountering a file, especially print streams or text-based reports, the RTV AI analyzes the content to determine its:

  • Encoding Type: Identifies character encoding (e.g., EBCDIC, ASCII variants) to ensure correct text representation.
  • Carriage Control: Interprets control characters used in line data and print streams to manage line spacing, page breaks, and formatting.
  • Layout: Infers the intended layout and structure for proper on-screen rendering.

Building on this detection capability, the system can often automatically generate necessary configuration files if a specific configuration is not provided or recognized. This eliminates significant manual effort typically required to define viewers or profiles for diverse and potentially obscure legacy data formats, enabling faster and more accurate viewing directly within the RTV interface.
